A ball that will not stay where you put it. Press the red button in the middle of the Bumpie Ball and the little motor inside sets it going: it bumps, it dances and it rolls off unpredictably across the floor.
For a baby that is exactly exciting enough. Lying on their tummy, they see the ball slide away and want to go after it, and crawling turns into a game all by itself. If your child is already sitting up, it is feeling the soft, rubbery discs and rolling the ball back that holds the attention.
The ball is covered all over with coloured discs, each with a different relief: ridges, spirals, fine bumps. They stick out far enough for small hands to grip and they interrupt the rolling, so the ball shoots off sideways instead of running straight. Playgo makes it in plastic and silicone. The packaging says 6m+ and item number 1689; the ball runs on batteries.
A lovely gift for a six-month-old or for a first birthday: a toy that moves by itself, and a crawling child goes straight after it.
