The Warmies puppy is a soft toy with a core of grain kernels and dried lavender. That makes it heavier than an ordinary soft toy, and it stays where you put it: on a lap, against a shoulder, under an arm. The coat is cream with brown patches on the muzzle and the back, with long floppy ears and soft paw pads.
The idea is simple. You warm it in the microwave, and the grain holds that heat and then releases it gradually. If you would rather have it cool, the soft toy can spend a while in the freezer. The heating time is on the manufacturer's packaging.
The pouch of grain and lavender is sewn into the soft toy and cannot come out, so the puppy stays in one piece. What you smell is that lavender: a light herbal scent that comes through more clearly once the toy is warm.
A puppy like this is a present for someone who likes holding something warm - on the sofa, in the car or on a cold evening. Warmies makes the same soft toy in dozens of animals, so another one is easy to find later.
