This stable from the Little People range is a building with stalls, a grey roof and a red door that opens and closes. You get the stable itself, two horses, a figure to look after them, a cart and two pieces of feed.
There is a turntable inside: stand a horse on it and turn it, and sounds play. At the top is a hatch the feed drops through, so that it arrives below with the horses. The cart hitches to the big horse for carrying things around, and in the evening the horses go into their stall and the doors shut.
That opening and closing, hitching up and aiming through the hatch is exactly the work that makes toddler hands more precise, and looking after the animals is many children's first real role play. The box reads 1+; Mattel gives the set for 1 to 5 years.
The figures are the same size as the rest of the Little People, so horses and people from other sets can simply come and visit.
