Colour Fishing from baby Clementoni, also named on the box in Dutch as 'Vissen - spelen en leren', consists of a boat, a small rod and four fish in yellow, green, blue and red. The boat is divided into compartments inside and has a rim in those same four colours.
The game runs like this: lift a fish out with the rod, see which colour it is and lay it in the compartment of that colour. That holds just enough challenge for a toddler, because the lifting comes first and the sorting only afterwards.
A child aims with the rod first and then puts colours together, two things at once: hand-eye coordination and recognising colours. The box sums that up as 'Helps to develop logic'.
The box states 12-36 months. A manageable present with few parts: a boat, a stick and four fish is all this game needs.
