An orange rubber ball with the look of a basketball: eight panels marked out with black seam lines, a dimpled surface that gives grip, and the print DIDAK PLAY on the side.
Rubber is the material that earns its keep outdoors. The ball bounces on concrete, paving and tarmac, and it takes little notice of a knock against the garage door or a landing in the hedge.
Dribbling, passing, shooting at a hoop above the driveway, or just throwing it back and forth until dinner is ready. A ball is the toy that needs the least explaining and goes outside the most often.
Plain and straightforward: a simple present for a child who likes moving about outside.
