Clear water in an above-ground pool comes from a pump that keeps running. This Flowclear pump from Bestway does exactly that, with one difference from the ordinary models: the filter housing is transparent.
That lets you see the filter cartridge without unscrewing the lid. You notice at a glance when it turns grey and is due for replacement - Bestway reckons on roughly every two weeks, depending on how heavily the pool is used.
The pump flow rate is 5,678 l/h (1,500 gal/h); through the filter itself goes 3,974 l/h. The pump runs on 220-240 V and works with a type III-A/C cartridge. The box holds 3 m of hose with an adapter. Bestway advises running the pump at least eight hours a day, so that all the water passes through once.
Bestway lists this pump for pools of 1,100 to 31,700 litres and notes that it fits almost any above-ground pool, whatever the brand. So when choosing, look at your pool's capacity in litres rather than at its shape.
