Tin can alley belongs at the funfair, but it works just as well at home. This throwing game from Didak Play is about tin cans that you stack into a tower; after that it is a matter of aiming, throwing and counting what falls.
You can explain the rules in ten seconds. Put the tower on a garden table or a low wall, agree a throwing line together and count after each turn how many cans are down. Whoever knocks the whole stack over in one throw takes the round. Younger children set their line a few steps closer, and then everyone simply joins in.
No screen, no battery and no assembly involved: unpack, stack, play. Afterwards everything is cleared away in no time, and the cans can go straight to the beach or the holiday house.
A good present for children who would rather be busy outdoors, and a handy game to keep in reserve for a birthday party or a family day in the garden.
