The Little Seagull from Didak Beach is exactly what the name says: a seagull, and a small one. White wings with dark blue serrated tips, a little yellow beak with a black eye on it, and a long dark blue tail running well past the body. The sail measures 50 by 18 cm; the tail comes after that.
Small is the point here. A kite half a metre across is light, fits in a bike bag and gets enough air under it in very little wind. For a first kite that is a friendlier starting point than a big sail tugging at your arm.
It is a single-liner. You let it climb, give line and watch - there is nothing to steer and nothing about the technique to get wrong. The long tail keeps the gull straight and shows from a distance which way the wind is turning.
It belongs to the Didak Beach bird range, together with the black Swallow of 55 by 90 cm and the much larger Redbird of 154 by 57 cm.
