This cruise ship is 40 cm long and moulded entirely from plastic. The hull is blue, the superstructure white with rows of windows and portholes set into it, and on top stand a yellow funnel and an orange lifeboat.
The ship floats, so it belongs in the water: the bath, the inflatable pool in the garden, or the edge of the sea where the water only comes up to the ankles. A child pushes it along, lets it sail and fishes it out again. At 40 cm it is big enough to take hold of with two hands.
In the middle of the deck sits a green section with a cut-out in it, handy for lifting the ship when it comes out of the water. Beyond that there is nothing to assemble and no batteries are needed: unpack it and launch it.
Adriatic is an Italian maker of beach and water toys. This ship is the sort of present that fits in the holiday suitcase and then simply stays in the bathroom after the summer: small enough to take along, big enough to make an impression.
