This radio-controlled car from Taiyo is shaped as an off-roader: a high chassis on four chunky tyres, a body in blue, yellow and black and a wide rear wing carrying the Taiyo logo. At 1:14 scale that works out at 31 cm.
You steer it with a 2.4 GHz handheld transmitter. Top speed is 15 km/h and the range is about 20 metres - enough for a driveway or a stretch of garden.
The box holds the car, the transmitter, a rechargeable 7.4 V lithium-ion battery and a charging cable. The battery is full in about two hours. For the transmitter you supply three AA batteries yourself.
A present for a child who has moved on from push-along toys and would rather drive outdoors.
