LEGO Technic NASA Mars Rover Perseverance 42158 is a building set that lets you assemble a detailed model of the real NASA Mars rover. The set has 1,132 pieces and is intended for children from 10 years.
The model has six wheels that can steer independently, a foldout robotic arm fitted with a drill head and camera-like parts, and a mast with sensors, just like the real vehicle. The set also includes a separate model of the small scout helicopter Ingenuity, which can be built on its own and displayed next to the rover, as shown on the box.
The box advertises an AR Technic Experience: an app lets you view the model digitally during and after building. The build itself works well as a calm, detailed puzzle for children who love technology and space exploration.
Given the number of pieces and the build time, this is a great gift for a child from 10 years who already has some experience with LEGO Technic or wants to take on a more challenging model.
