The LEGO Technic McLaren P1 (set number 42172) is a 3,893-piece building set that recreates the legendary McLaren P1 at 1:8 scale. The box shows the car in its recognisable orange-and-black colour scheme, with the McLaren logos and the Technic signature on the packaging.
The model features working details such as opening doors, a detailed engine bay and a sporty interior, built entirely using Technic building techniques with gears and hinges instead of ordinary bricks. Whoever finishes the model builds an impressive showpiece step by step.
The set is aimed at adult builders and collectors: the box states an age of 18 years and up. That matches the piece count and the fine, lengthy assembly the build demands.
This set makes a great gift for anyone who loves car design, Technic sets or the McLaren brand, and for anyone who enjoys finishing a challenging build to display afterwards.
