LEGO Technic Volvo EC500 Hybrid excavator (42215) is a detailed building model of the Volvo excavator of the same name, built from 2,359 pieces in the recognisable black-yellow-orange colour scheme with VOLVO branding. The model is intended for ages 18 and up and contains no batteries.
A motor and gearbox with a control lever let you choose between four functions: moving the boom and arm, and driving the interchangeable hammer or bucket. You can also manually open the cab doors, run the tracks, and rotate the superstructure, just like the real machine.
Finished, the model measures approximately 54 cm long, 29 cm wide and 24 cm high. The build itself is a slow, lengthy project, with technical details such as cylinders and a real gearbox, suited to experienced Technic builders.
A great gift for adult fans of building sets, engineering or heavy vehicles, who enjoy taking their time on a challenging build and end up with a functional model to play with or display.
