The box holds the Echo CS-10, a clip for ten darts and 24 official Nerf darts: ten in the clip and fourteen to reload with. No batteries needed - the blaster runs entirely on the pump grip.
The '4-in-1' on the box refers to rebuilding it. The shoulder stock and the barrel extension click off, taking you from a long blaster to a short, nimble one and back again. The housing carries four rails for accessories from the Nerf range; those are not included.
You can fire one dart at a time, or hold the trigger in and work the pump quickly, sending the whole clip out one after another. Hasbro quotes a range of up to 27 metres, and that figure is printed on the box as well: plenty for a garden or a playground, rather a lot for indoors.
The box carries a roundel reading from 8 years. The darts supplied are the blue Elite darts; they are not interchangeable with the Nerf Ultra range, which has darts of its own.
