The Tricera-Blast belongs to Nerf's DinoSquad range. The light blue head with its three white horns sits around the barrel, and that head is also the loading mechanism. You get the blaster and 12 official Nerf Elite darts.
Push the front horn down and the barrel breaks open, so you lay three darts into the chamber at once. Close it, prime it, and fire them off one by one. The stock stows all twelve darts neatly, which helps when the game spreads out across the whole garden.
No batteries are needed: everything happens by hand. Hasbro states from 8 years, and the blaster is made for official Nerf Elite darts.
A good first Nerf for anyone who takes it steadier than with a motorised blaster, or a second blaster so two can play without having to take turns.
