The Spanish manufacturer Gonher has been making metal toy guns for decades, and this model takes over the silhouette of the classic Luger. The body is die-cast metal, the grip is plastic, finished in black.
Loading happens from the top: you flip the drum magazine open, lay in a ring of eight caps and click it shut again. Every time you pull the trigger the ring turns one place on and a short, dry bang sounds. After eight shots you swap the empty ring for a new one.
The caps are not in the packaging. You buy them separately, in rings of eight shots, from the same shops that sell the pistols.
The pistol belongs in cops-and-robbers role-play, and it rounds out a costume for carnival or a birthday party. Because of the metal it sits noticeably heavier in the hand than toys made entirely of plastic.
