This pistol is part of Gonher's police range, a Spanish manufacturer that has been making metal toy guns for generations. It follows the lines of the Astra, a classic automatic pistol, and is built from die-cast metal with a plastic grip in black.
You release the flap on top, lay a ring of eight caps on the holder and click the whole thing shut again. With every pull of the trigger the ring moves one place on and a single cap gives a short bang. Eight shots later you take the empty ring out and start again.
Caps are not supplied: you buy those separately, in rings of eight shots. Beyond that you need nothing, because the pistol works entirely mechanically.
It is meant for role-play - cops and robbers, a treasure hunt through the garden, a dressing-up session - and the metal gives it a weight children notice at once. Anyone after a bigger model will find twelve-shot revolvers in the same range.
