This Classic World set holds seven pieces of wooden fruit - watermelon, pear, apple, lemon, orange, banana and kiwi - along with an oval cutting board with a handle hole and a wooden knife with a serrated edge. Each piece of fruit falls into two halves and then holds together again thanks to the fastening pads on the cut faces.
The cutting itself is the game: put the fruit on the board, set the knife in the groove, push until it lets go with a jolt, then press everything back together. Naming what is lying on the board usually follows by itself. The set fits in well with a play kitchen or a toy shop.
The set measures 22.5 × 16.4 × 7.8 cm and weighs 0.51 kg. The wood is painted in the colours of the fruit; the cut faces stay bare, with the pips and segments printed on.
Pretend play that lasts, and easy to build on - other cutting sets and play food slot straight in.
