1000 KM is the board game version of Mille Bornes, the car race on your table that the box announces as the original game since 1954. You drive your little car along a long track and try to be the first to complete the thousand kilometres.
Along the way you play distance cards of 50, 100 or 200, and you have to reckon with whatever your opponents are holding back for you. The box sums it up itself: dodge your rivals' traps and win the race.
The pictograms on the packaging give 5+, 2 to 4 players and 20 minutes. That makes it a game for a short spell at the table, one where the youngest can join in without the others getting bored.
Good for families where everyone is a different age, and an easy present to pick: anyone who knows the game from years ago will recognise the classic straight away in the cards and the track.
