Hitster is a card game about the history of music. The box sums it up in a line: build your timeline with more than 100 years of hits. Every card is a track, and the card carries a QR code where the title would be.
You scan the card with your smartphone, the track starts playing and you have to judge which period it comes from. If you reckon it is older than the card to the left in your row and newer than the one to the right, you slot it in between. Guess right and the card stays in your timeline. The scanning is done with the Hitster app and the music plays through a streaming service, so you need a smartphone with an internet connection in order to play.
The box gives 16+, 2 to 10 players and about 30 minutes. It is a game for an evening with friends or a family party, where the best moment is usually not the right answer but the argument about it.
This is the Dutch-language base edition of Hitster, not a themed set.
