The model shows Buckbeak, the hippogriff from the Harry Potter stories, with its wings fully open. A measuring arrow runs across those wings on the box: 50 cm from tip to tip. That makes it a piece that stands out on a shelf.
It does not come out of the box finished. Your child first builds the creature and the base, then fixes the small chains between the two. Once they are all under tension, the construction stands stable without the creature setting its feet on the base - it looks as if it hangs in the air.
That is where the lesson sits as well: according to Clementoni, tensioning the chains is how the child experiences the way tension makes a structure rigid.
The box measures 40.6 x 28.6 x 7 cm and weighs 940 grams, and carries the Wizarding World brand alongside the Harry Potter logo. More one for an older fan than for a small child: a present for someone who knows the books or the films. The box says from 8 years.
