Build Your Own Robot is not a ready-made robot but a construction set. You put it together yourself first, with two electric motors, the wheels and the electronic board, and only then does it start moving. That building is half the game.
Once it is finished it does all sorts of things. Two infrared sensors let it avoid obstacles and follow you; through the microphone you steer it by clapping your hands; with the buttons on its back you programme a route. The magnet holder picks up paper clips and coins, and in the pen holder you slot a felt-tip so it draws while it drives.
The box states 8+ and mentions an accompanying app with 5 play modes. Designed and made in Italy.
A present for a child who would rather screw something together first than play with it, and a first taste of programming that fits on the kitchen table.
