There is no shortage of tools: beakers with lids, test tubes with caps and a rack to stand them in, funnels, pipettes, stirring rods, spatulas, brushes, tweezers, filter paper, a pair of protective goggles and the substances the experiments call for.
Your child works through the manual step by step - measuring out, mixing, filtering, noting down what happens. The exercises in between ask for a moment's thinking before the next step, which makes it more than a string of tricks.
