With Pokémon Trainer Mission you get an electronic detector in the shape of a Poké Ball, a trainer card and a manual. The device speaks Dutch: the box reads 'Ik detecteer Pokémon om je heen!' - I detect Pokémon around you - and that is exactly how the game starts.
The detector shows with sound and light which direction a Pokémon is in. Your child moves the ball that way and catches it with a movement - the box calls that motion detection. Whatever is caught goes onto the trainer card, so you can see how far you have come.
The box promises 65 Pokémon to catch and 40 missions to complete, and carries an age roundel of 5+. The game runs on 3 AAA batteries, which according to the manufacturer are not included. It is a game for indoors; the front says so in Dutch, 'verken veilig thuis'.
A present for a child who knows Pokémon and would rather walk around than sit still. Because the device talks by itself, it needs no tablet or phone.
