Plastilina is the classic modelling clay from the Spanish brand JOVI, a name you mostly come across in classrooms. Art. 9010 is the small cardboard box with a hanging tab: ten sticks of 15 grams in mixed colours, lined up behind a window.
The clay is ready to shape straight away and holds its form afterwards. Children roll snakes, balls and little figures from it, press them flat and start over. It does not dry out, so the same box lasts a long time, and colours that end up kneaded together stay perfectly usable.
JOVI makes the plastilina on a plant-based formula. It can be worked with cutters, modelling knives and other clay tools, and stays supple at lower temperatures too. JOVI gives the age as from 3 years.
An inexpensive box to keep in the house: as a top-up to a bigger clay set, as a filler for a party bag, or simply to get through a rainy Wednesday afternoon.
