In this photograph a jaguar walks straight towards you: one front paw still in the air, the head low and the green eyes fixed on the lens. The coat fills almost the whole image, ochre yellow with black rosettes, a white chest and paws that glisten wet. The background is deliberately blurred, so all the attention falls on the animal.
With 1000 pieces and that much spotted pattern, this is not a one-evening puzzle. The rosettes look alike but never repeat exactly, so you place by shape and by the direction of the hairs. The blurred background and the dark lower edge are the hardest part.
Assembled, the puzzle measures 70 × 50 cm, big enough to work on with two people. The box carries High Quality Collection, the Animals label and the piece count.
A gift for anyone who likes taking on a larger puzzle and has a soft spot for big cats. Assembled, the image also hangs well in a frame.
