Pool Pranks is the seventh puzzle in the Jan van Haasteren Junior range, the children's line of the well-known busy comic puzzles. The box holds 150 pieces and carries the age marking 5+.
On the picture it is a hot day. The friends are standing around an inflatable pool in the garden with armbands, a snorkel and a little net, until a fin cuts through the water. Is it a real shark, or is someone playing a prank? While your child hunts for pieces, there is plenty to spot: a crab on the rim of the pool, a startled bather, a bag in the grass.
150 pieces suits a child who has left the first pre-school puzzles behind but is not ready for hundreds of pieces. The drawing is large and busy, so you can work figure by figure instead of colour patch by colour patch - which keeps it manageable without making it too easy.
A present for puzzlers from 5 years, and a nice one to do together: with Jan van Haasteren there is always more to see than you notice at first glance.
