The Sand Pit is part 11 of Jan van Haasteren Junior, Jumbo's children's range based on the comic puzzles by Jan van Haasteren. The picture shows a big wooden sandpit full of activity: a sandcastle with turrets, a garden hose giving rather more water than intended, and a cat that wants no part of it.
While your child lays the 240 pieces there is plenty to spot: soap bubbles in every size, a dalmatian flying through the air, the row of sand pies along the rim and, of course, the shark fin, Jan van Haasteren's standing gag.
The puzzle counts 240 pieces and the box shows 6+. Within the Junior range this is the middle step, between the 150-piece and the 360-piece puzzles.
Good fun to do together at the kitchen table: a picture this busy still holds discoveries for an adult, and as a present it travels easily to a birthday party.
