One hundred scoubidou strands in Kim'Play's Pailletés version: translucent plastic with glitter running through it, in ten colours mixed together. Each strand is around 80 centimetres long.
The braiding works exactly as it does with ordinary scoubidous, four strands and a pattern you repeat until the keyring is as long as you want it. The difference is in the light: where matt strands stay flat, these catch a glint at every turn.
A hundred strands sounds like a lot, and it is. One keyring takes four of them, so a whole table can start at once and there is still plenty left for the first attempts that go wrong. There is no instruction leaflet in this bag; it holds the strands and nothing else.
A bag that lends itself to a crafting afternoon, a birthday party or a rainy holiday, and one children can use to decorate their own schoolbag or zip.
