Two wooden rods for the fishing game with fairground ducks. On each stick the white cord is wound neatly around the wood, with a green bead and a bent metal hook at the end - the hook that fits the ring of a floating duck.
Two rods is the number this game asks for. A child on its own fishes until it has had enough; two children fish against each other, and only then does it turn into a game. Fill a tub, a bucket or an inflatable paddling pool, float some ducks in it and count down.
The sticks are light, untreated wood and weigh next to nothing, so even a small child can aim them steadily. You unwind the cord to whatever length you want and wind it back up after playing, so the hooks do not tangle with each other in the toy cupboard.
Ducks are not included - buy those separately, or fish with the bath ducks you already have. An inexpensive way to fill an hour at a children's party, a school fair or on a rainy Wednesday afternoon.
