Ascension Infernale - Everest Challenge is not an ordinary board game: the playing field stands upright. A plastic rock face covered in coloured holds sits on the table in a red frame, and small climbers make their way up it to the summit.
The line on the box sums it up: choose your climbing route to reach the top. At the base sits a spinner that decides how your climber may move. First to the summit wins - but on the way a climber can come off the wall and have to start back down.
The box holds the climbing wall, four climbers and the spinner. Four numbered photos on the side show step by step how to play; the explanation on the box appears in Dutch, French, English, Italian, German and Greek.
The age marking on the box is 4+. A present for children who would rather do something with their hands during a game than wait for their turn.
