The White Cap from the Hydro-Force range is an all-round SUP board of 305 x 84 x 12 cm - ten feet, as printed on the deck. It carries up to 120 kg and is made of drop-stitch with a PVC laminate, which keeps it rigid once it is up to pressure. Bestway gives an inflation time of about five minutes.
The seat is what makes the difference. Clip the detachable seat with backrest and the footrest onto the board and you paddle on sitting down as in a kayak; take them off and you are standing up on a SUP again. The supplied 217 cm aluminium paddle is adjustable and splits into four parts, so you can make either a stand-up paddle or a double-bladed kayak paddle out of it.
You also get a hand pump, a removable fin, a coil leash to keep the board tied to your ankle, a repair kit and a carrying backpack. On the board itself are a non-slip deck, a carrying handle, stainless steel rings and a bungee cord at the front for tucking a dry bag or a jacket under.
Folded up it all goes in the backpack: about 30 x 40 x 90 cm and just under 12 kg. A present for anyone who likes being out on calm water and would rather not choose between paddleboarding and kayaking.
