Throwing chlorine tablets loose into the pool works badly: they dissolve unevenly and sink to the floor, where they stay put. A float solves that by keeping the tablets at the surface and letting a measured amount of water run past them. This Kokido is the small version, for tablets up to twenty grams.
You unscrew the top, put in a maximum of six tablets and close it again. The lower ring twists open or shut: the further open, the more water runs past the tablets and the faster they dissolve. That is how you match the release to the size of your pool and to how warm it is.
The float is simply left loose on the water; it drifts with the current and spreads the chlorine around the whole pool. The tablet size it is built for is 25 mm across - the small tablets, that is, not the large size.
