This box from Cra-Z-Art holds 32 sidewalk chalk sticks in 12 different colours. The sticks are thick and round with a ribbed end, so they sit well in a child's hand and do not slip straight out of the fingers.
Sidewalk chalk is outdoor play that needs very little explaining. Children draw on the terrace or the drive, mark out a hopscotch course, write names along the garden path, or make one drawing together that covers the whole pavement. Once it is full, you simply start over.
The packaging says 'washes away with water': the chalk marks come off again with water. There is an age marking of 4+ on the box. The punched-out handle at the top means children carry the box outside themselves and put everything back in it afterwards.
A present that lasts and that several children can be busy with at once - useful for a birthday in spring or just before the summer holidays.
