A tie-dye set that turns a blank cotton bag into a colourful one. The packaging lists the contents: six squeeze bottles of 120 ml with dye, four pairs of gloves, forty rubber bands, one tote bag and one instruction sheet.
The box sets out the job in three steps: add water to the bottles, apply the dye, then leave the bag wrapped for six to eight hours before rinsing it out. The rubber bands are for tying off the fabric beforehand - no dye reaches the spot where a band sits, and that is what produces the spirals and starbursts shown on the packaging.
There are four pairs of gloves in the box, so two of you or a small group can work at the same time. The bag itself is unprinted, which leaves the pattern entirely yours.
A gift for someone who likes making things themselves and then actually heading out with the result.
