The TYBO Design Studio from Mookie is a tie-dye set built around a clear orb on a stand with a turning handle. The box holds the studio itself, six dye colours with six squeeze bottles, elastic bands, gloves and the Top Ties technique booklet with the tying patterns.
It works in three steps, exactly as the box sets them out: squirt, spin, and there is your own design. You tie the garment off with the elastic bands, drop it into the orb and squirt the colours in through the holes in the lid. Those holes close again by themselves, so the dye stays in the orb. Hence the 'no mess' printed on the packaging.
Then you turn the handle. The orb flings the excess dye out, which keeps the pattern sharp instead of letting it bleed. Every piece comes out different, and the box duly says that colours may vary.
The packaging states from 6 years. No T-shirt is included, so you pick that yourself. Good for a child who likes making something and then actually wearing it, and a gift that fills an afternoon.
