On the card a cheetah runs through tall grass, and the marbles in this bag take over its coat: clear glass with amber, ochre and brown twisted through it. There are 21 inside - 20 of 16 mm and one large one of 25 mm.
The game itself is centuries old and takes a minute to learn. You dig a small hollow or draw a circle, and with a flick of the thumb you send your marble at the other player's. The large 25 mm marble serves as the shooter and is the most sought-after swap in the playground.
The marbles are glass and therefore solid and heavy enough to roll well. The bag has an octagonal cardboard header card with a hanging hole, and the whole pack fits in a coat pocket.
Handy as a top-up for anyone who already has a marble bag, and an affordable birthday present or party favour for someone just starting out.
