This cuddly leopard from Fisher-Price's Planet Friends range is made to be felt. The head is white with dark spots, the ears are blue plush and the outfit is a soft coral-coloured fabric. The box sums it up as 'textures galore': a different material everywhere.
A few small things are worked into it for a baby to pick out with the fingers. The paws pull through, the strap of the outfit slides loose, and a soft ring runs back and forth along one arm. Satiny, fluffy and rustling next to each other give a different feel under the hand each time.
It is small enough to take along in the buggy or the changing bag, and Mattel gives the toy as machine washable - which makes a difference for a cuddly toy that goes everywhere. The box reads 3 m+.
A new-baby present that does not go straight onto the pile: first something to look at and feel, later simply a soft toy that has to come too.
