This yellow crane comes with four coloured blocks, each carrying a number and shapes. Put a block on top of the crane, or slot the blocks into each other, and the crane recognises which block it is: it responds with lights, sound and a phrase.
There is more to do than counting. The box promises more than fifty songs, sounds, tunes and phrases covering numbers, counting, colours and shapes. Behind the cab door sits a lion for a game of peekaboo, the music button gives another helping of light and sound, and the wrecking ball on its cord rattles and clicks when hands get to it.
The crane rolls on four fat wheels, so a crawling baby or a toddler just finding its feet can push it along. The stacking asks for precise hands, the pushing asks for balance.
The box gives an age of 9 to 36 months. A present that lasts a while: first pushing and rattling, later really counting along to four.
