The official board game of De Ronde van Vlaanderen, made with Flanders Classics and Sporza and published by Beeusaert-Braet of Knokke-Heist. The course is not fixed: you lay it out with hexagonal road tiles, from tarmac and bends to climbs and stretches of cobbles.
Crossing the line first means learning to ration your strength. There is weather and wind, there are cobbles and climbs, and the bunch plays its part, so no two races run the same. Luck comes into it, but mostly it is a feel for the right moment to go.
There are six riders, in blue, red, green, white, orange and pink, so 2 to 6 people can play. The same tiles also lay out Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, which is included in the box, and anyone who wants to can build their own Flemish classic with them.
The box states from 8 years and is printed in Dutch and French. An obvious present for a cycling fan, and a game that keeps a whole table busy on a grey Sunday.
