'Ik leer woordjes' belongs to Jumbo's ik leer range and is about the step from single letters to whole words. Each card carries a drawing with empty squares underneath, and your child slots in the coloured letter tiles until the word is complete. The words shown on the box are Dutch: vis, slak, hond, vogel, sla, kers, kiwi and appel.
The box contains six learning games around 24 words, divided over two levels. Jumbo names four skills on the packaging, in this order: recognising letters, spelling words, reading, and building vocabulary.
The box says 4+. Inside there are cards and loose letter tiles and nothing more: no screen, no app, no batteries. That makes it a game you can put on the table anywhere, at grandma's or away on holiday.
A well-aimed present for a child who is just getting to grips with letters, or for grandparents who want something that can stay at their house.
