'Ik leer cijfers' from Jumbo's ik leer range consists of 10 puzzles of three pieces. Each set puts the same quantity on show three times over: the animals themselves, the written numeral and a panel with the same number of dots. The box shows a whale for the 1, two crocodiles for the 2 and three giraffes for the 3.
Your child counts the animals, finds the matching numeral and lays the dot panel beside it. The three pieces click together like a puzzle. After that the puzzles can be set out in order, from few to many, which is what Jumbo calls ordering quantities on the box.
The box states 3+ and 'voorbereiden op de basisschool', getting ready for school, with six learning games and four goals: recognising numerals, counting, making connections and ordering quantities. Ten puzzles of three pieces stays manageable, because you can take one out without the whole box ending up on the table.
Handy for the stretch when a child starts recognising numerals, and small in scale: a single puzzle already makes a game.
