Stratego Junior Dinos brings the classic Stratego down to pre-school size. Two herds face each other on the board: 19 purple and 19 orange dinosaur pieces. The box also holds a die, the game board and the rules.
Jumbo describes two ways to play. In Stratego Quest you set your dinosaurs up face down and use the die to hunt for the dinosaurs in the same colour: a memory game. In Stratego Triumph the two herds go to battle, dodging rocks and meteorites, and you try to be the first to find the missing dinosaur egg.
Those two modes give the game a long life at home. Jumbo puts 4+ on Quest and 6+ on Triumph, so a child still too young for the tactical half starts with the simple variant and moves up later. You play with two, and a game takes about 20 minutes.
A present for a child mad about dinosaurs who is ready for a first real board game. Handy detail: you only need one opponent, so mum or grandad will do.
