Reaxion is dominoes, but with connectors. The box contains 150 X-tiles and 75 Linx to clip the tiles together, plus 2 spinners, 2 cubes and 4 wheels that drop into the run as ready-made stunts.
The Linx couple tiles to each other, so a run becomes more than a line that falls over: you build bends, gateways and stretches that climb, and the box artwork shows tiles flicking away as the reaction passes. The spinners, cubes and wheels clip in as a finished stunt. Once everything is standing, you give the first tile a push and the reaction runs to the end.
The box states 7+. That matches what the set asks for: the patience to build, and the eye to see why a reaction dies halfway and what to change about it. Building it again is part of the deal, and for many children it is the best part.
A present for children who like to construct and want to see the result move straight away. With 150 tiles and 75 connectors there is enough material to run a track right across the room.
