Every card carries a setback, from mildly annoying to genuinely disastrous, with a number from 1 to 100 saying how bad it is. The box holds 200 cards and, as Goliath puts it, an extremely obvious set of instructions.
You start with three cards laid out in order: mildest on the left, worst on the right. The player next to you reads out a new card without showing the number, and you say where it belongs - milder than your left-hand card, worse than your right-hand one, or somewhere in between. Guess right and the card stays. The first player to place ten cards correctly wins.
The game lives off the argument afterwards, because nobody ever agrees with the score on the card. There is no board involved, so it plays just as well on a terrace or in a holiday house. The box is printed with 2+ players and age 14+, and Goliath reckons on 20 to 40 minutes.
This is the family edition: the same set-up as the original Shit Happens, but pitched at a group from 14 years. The box is small enough for a weekend bag and it is an easy present for a house with teenagers.
