Prosperplast calls this model Sea Lion, after the seal's head moulded out of the front of the hull. The sledge measures 79.7 cm long, 39.5 cm wide and 25.3 cm high, and is moulded from frost-resistant plastic in blue.
Steel runners run along the underside. At the front is a coloured pull rope with a yellow handle on it: with that you haul the sledge back up the slope, or pull a child along a snowy path or a frozen farm track.
The seat is moulded in one piece and has slots cut into it; the sides are open, with a continuous rim that curls upward at the front. There are no loose parts to put together first - you take it out of the garage and off you go.
A sledge is bought once and used every winter there is enough snow. Put it ready in autumn, because on the day it finally snows they are sold out everywhere.
