Marbles roll across the round arena and two hippos go after them. You press your hippo's tail as fast as you can, which shoots its head forward so it snaps. Whoever has the most marbles in front of them at the end wins - and you only know once the arena is empty.
This is the travel edition: a compact round arena with two hippos, a clear dome over the top so the marbles cannot jump out, and storage for the parts inside the game itself. Close it and it comes along.
Nothing has to be read, counted or explained, which is what lets four-year-olds join in. The box states that a round takes about five minutes, so it is one to get out in a spare moment rather than for a whole evening.
Note that this is the French-language edition, with Hippos Gloutons as the title on the box. That changes nothing about the game itself - no text is involved - but the packaging is in French.
